The Department of Commerce has announced a funding opportunity through the 2023 Market Development Cooperator Program (MDCP) to support projects aimed at generating U.S. exports, addressing trade barriers, enhancing industry competitiveness, and creating American jobs.

The program will provide up to $300,000 per project to eligible non-profit industry groups and other entities.

Secretary  Gina Raimondo highlighted the MDCP's success in generating $12.6 billion in U.S. exports since its inception, adding that the program offers significant returns on investment for businesses, workers, and the economy. MDCP projects have created or sustained 14,000 American jobs on average per year, generating $286 in exports for every $1 awarded.

Administered by the International Trade Administration (ITA), the MDCP provides financial and technical assistance through ITA's global network of industry and trade experts for 3-5 year projects. Applicants must demonstrate how their project will generate U.S. exports and support American jobs.

To learn more about the MDCP and application process, including preliminary counseling sessions with program experts, visit trade.gov/mdcp or email mdcp@trade.gov. Applications will be accepted through June 20, 2023.
