Commerce's International Trade Administration announces the U.S. Industry Program (USIP) at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) General Conference in Vienna, Austria, from September 24-27, 2023. This program aims to promote U.S. civil nuclear companies' services and technologies to an international audience, including senior energy policymakers from current and emerging markets and IAEA staff.

Eligible participants include representatives of U.S. companies from the civil nuclear supply chain, as well as related service providers, such as universities, research institutions, and U.S. civil nuclear trade associations. The mission's goal is to increase U.S. civil nuclear exports by helping participants gain market insights, make industry contacts, solidify business strategies, and identify or advance specific projects.

The schedule includes meetings with foreign delegations and discussions with senior USG officials on essential civil nuclear topics, including regulatory, technology and standards, liability, public acceptance, export controls, financing, infrastructure development, and R&D cooperation.

With 56 reactors currently under construction in 15 countries and 160 nuclear plant projects planned in 27 countries over the next 8-10 years, there are significant opportunities for U.S. businesses in the global civil nuclear energy market. The market demand for equipment and services is estimated to be $500-740 billion over the next ten years.
