FDI Advisory Committee Members Sought

The Commerce Department is currently seeking applications for membership on the United States Investment Advisory Council. The purpose of the Council is to advise the Secretary of Commerce on strategies to attract and retain foreign direct investment to the United States.

The IAC serves as an advisory committee, providing counsel to the Secretary on U.S. government policies and programs affecting foreign direct investment (FDI).

Its primary objectives include identifying and recommending policies to attract and retain FDI and supporting the United States as a premier FDI destination.

The IAC comprises up to forty members representing various sectors, including U.S.-incorporated companies with foreign ownership, entities involved in FDI-related activities, and organizations promoting FDI.

Appointments are for two-year terms, renewable at the Secretary's discretion, provided the member proves effective and their expertise remains relevant. The IAC convenes a minimum of two times annually, with additional meetings as needed, either in person or via teleconference. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required for membership.
