Japan Audit Flags $7.2 Billion in Undelivered U.S. Military Equipment Under FMS

A Japanese government audit has found that 118 orders for U.S. military equipment worth ¥1.14 trillion ($7.21 billion) remained undelivered at least five years after contracts were signed, forcing the Self-Defense Forces to retain and operate older platforms, according to a report released this week by Japan’s Board of Audit.
