September Goods Deficit Up

The US international goods trade deficit was $85.8 billion in September, up $1.1 billion from $84.6 billion in August, according to a Commerce Department advance report released Oct. 26.

Exports of goods for September were $174 billion, $5 billion more than August exports, Commerce reported. Imports of goods for September were $259.8 billion, $6.1 billion more than August imports.

Commerce is scheduled to release its full report on the September trade balance on November 7.
