The WTO Secretariat and IMF's Tariff Tracker is now live on the new "Tariff actions" section of the WTO Tariff & Trade Data portal. The downloadable dataset provides the "applied effective tariff" imposed by customs authorities on various products since 1 January 2025.
Continuously updated, this dataset consolidates information from various sources, including WTO notifications, the WTO Trade Monitoring Database, and external media, in collaboration with the IMF.
· Data coverage: The dataset initially focuses on tariffs imposed by several countries and will eventually be expanded. It covers all trading partners of these countries and products at the 2-digit level of the Harmonized System.
· Sources: The dataset is based on tariff actions as compiled from various sources, including external media. This is in addition to the other sections of the WTO Tariff and Trade Data portal which are based on member governments' tariff notifications and commitments to the WTO, complemented by other official data sources.
· Charts (coming soon): A visualization feature will be later added to illustrate the changes in effective applied duties from the baseline tariffs.
Note: The IMF-WTO Tariff Tracker serves as a repository of information that is separately hosted on the two institutions’ websites and does not constitute an endorsement by the members of either organization.
