House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) has announced the creation of a new bipartisan task force aimed at overhauling the U.S. foreign military sales process.

Named the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Technical, Industrial, and Governmental Engagement for Readiness (TIGER) Task Force, it is set to be led by Congressman Mike Waltz (R-FL) and co-led by Congressman Seth Moulton (D-MA).

Congressmen French Hill (R-AR), Mike Garcia (R-CA), and Jason Crow (D-CO) will also join the task force. Experts from the State and Defense Departments, as well as industry leaders and regional subcommittee leadership from the House Foreign Affairs Committee, will provide their insights.

The TIGER Task Force will conduct regular briefings and make recommendations to the House Foreign Affairs Committee, aimed at enhancing efficiency and responsiveness in supplying military systems to U.S. allies.

Chairman McCaul highlighted the necessity of swift provision of military systems in agreements with U.S. allies. Congressman Waltz voiced his commitment to addressing longstanding issues causing delays and cost increases in military shipments, jeopardizing the security of crucial allies. Congressman Moulton underscored the diplomatic and national security importance of foreign military sales and pledged to address any bureaucratic obstacles hampering delivery.
